MLS-Only Subscription Frequently Asked Questions Follow
Q: What is changing on October 1, 2025?
A: Beginning October 1, 2025, Doorify MLS is expanding its subscription options to offer an MLS Subscription option to licensed real estate professionals and appraisers who are not REALTORS®.
MLS participants and subscribers who are not REALTORS® are referred to as “nonmember participants and subscribers.”
MLS participants and subscribers who are affiliated with REALTOR® firms (i.e., firms where the principal or broker-in-charge is a member of a REALTOR® association) are referred to as “REALTOR® participants and subscribers.”

Important Note: The subscription type available to a Subscriber is determined by the REALTOR® membership status of their Broker-in-Charge (BIC) or Designated Appraiser. In other words, the BIC or Designated Appraiser will make a determination if the Licensed Real Estate Professional and Licensed Appraisers affiliated with them are required to be REALTORS®. Doorify MLS does not make this determination.
Q: May I join Doorify MLS if I am unlicensed?
A: Unlicensed Administrative Assistants are able to subscribe under the supervision of a Broker-in-Charge or Designated Appraiser. Licensed Home Inspectors are also able to join.

Q: What is the Service Center Fee?
A: The $35 quarterly Service Center Fee applies to Nonmember Subscribers. This fee supports facilities, training resources, infrastructure and other staff costs that Doorify MLS obtains from local REALTOR® associations. The Service Center Fee allows Doorify MLS to provide those same facilities, training resources, and services to Nonmember Subscribers, even though they are not REALTOR® members. This means that Nonmember Subscribers receive the same high level of support while not belonging to a REALTOR® association.
Q: Can I switch between REALTOR® and Nonmember Subscriptions?
A: Yes, you can switch at any time. However, your subscription must match the type selected by your Participant (Designated Broker/Appraiser) for your office:
-
If the Participant is a REALTOR®, all affiliated licensees must also subscribe as REALTORS®, per Association rules.
-
If the Participant is a Nonmember, licensees in that office may choose the Nonmember subscription.
📌 Tip: Check with your office or BIC before requesting a change — your eligibility depends on your office’s status.
Q: What do Designated Licensees and offices need to know about subscription requirements?
A: The Designated Licensee (often the Broker-In-Charge or Participant) determines the subscription path for the entire office:
-
If the Designated Licensee is a REALTOR® member, all affiliated licensees in that office must also subscribe as a REALTOR®. This is a REALTOR® Association rule.
-
If the Designated Licensee is not a REALTOR®, licensees in that office may subscribe as nonmembers.
Q: Do Nonmembers Subscribers have different MLS rules or a Code of Conduct?
A: No, all MLS subscribers (Nonmembers and REALTORS®) must follow the same MLS rules. Doorify MLS is not creating a separate Code of Conduct for Nonmember subscribers at this time.
However, all subscribers–including Nonmembers – remain bound by the following:
-
State Licensing and the Real Estate Commissions of each state
-
MLS Rules & Regulations
-
Subscriber and Participant Agreements
Note: If you have concerns regarding ethical behavior, licensing, or professionalism, we recommend contacting the North Carolina Real Estate Commission (NCREC), which oversees real estate licensure and enforcement in the state.
Q: Where can I get help or more information?
A: Contact Doorify MLS Support or your local association for help understanding your subscription options or to request assistance.
Q: What services are available to a Nonmember Subscriber?
